Capital city of Greece

Athens is the capital of Greece and the largest city which is the center of activity. Athens took its name after the Greek goddess Athena. The city has a recorded history of over 4000 years, which makes it one of the oldest cities in Europe. Structure of the Acropolis and the city is headed by an active tourist destination. Athens is known throughout the world as the cradle of Greek culture. This is where the political system, democracy, science and philosophy were created.

What to see in Athens

The first place that you should visit is the Acropolis in Athens is a structure, it can be seen from anywhere in the city. There are of course other archaeological sites in Greece: Agora building, the Temple of Hephaestus, Temple of Zeus and Hadrian’s Temple. The city has museums, including the Acropolis Museum, National Archaeological Museum, Folklore Museum, Ceramic Museum, the War Museum and more.
